Feng Shui For Better Sleep

Updated: Dec 10, 2018

If like many people you have problems getting a good night’s sleep, you may like to consider using the principles of Feng Shui to rearrange you bedroom.

What is Feng Shui

Feng Shui is a healing system developed in china which uses energy forces, known as qi (chi) to help balance people by harmonize them with their surrounding environment. Feng Shui translates as "wind-water" in English. Feng shui practitioners observe the patients behaviour and appearance, taking into account any health conditions present, they then create a tranquil living environment through formulas and calculations, to help improve the patient’s wellbeing.

With just a little knowledge of Feng Shui it is possible to arrange the furniture in your home or office to bring a greater sense of peace and wellbeing to you and your family or co workers.

How to use Feng Shui to create a better sleeping environment

If like many people you have problems getting a good night’s sleep, you may like to consider using the principles of Feng Shui to rearrange you bedroom to see if this improves your sleep quality. The aim is to create a space where you can relax and recharge.

Make a few of these simple changes to see if you can get a better night’s sleep tonight.

1. Reduce clutter

Clear out any clutter from your bedroom. This will immediately help to improve the room’s energy. Especially ensure that there is no clutter under the bed. There should be space under the bed for energy to flow through.

2. Create a soothing colour scheme

Soft, pastel colours such as cream or off white or light pink create a relaxing environment. However stark white should be avoided as this is mentally stimulating.

3. Hang pictures of the natural environment

Pictures of a forest, the beach or mountainside will help you to wind down and relax.

4. Turn off technology, leave laptops and mobile phones in another room

5. Put a rug under the bed, this creates warmth if you have wooden or laminate flooring in your bedroom.

6. Get the temperature right
